Our Story
At Acres of Art, we do creativity differently. On our peaceful working farm near Pakenham, guests enjoy guided Paint & Sip sessions in a warm, country-style shed studio. With room for private groups, hens nights, team events and celebrations, our workshops are fun, relaxed and beginner-friendly. You bring the drinks and nibbles — we supply the canvas, paints and step-by-step guidance so everyone leaves with a painting they’re proud of. Acres of Art is the perfect blend of nature, creativity and connection, offering a unique Melbourne Paint & Sip experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Penny & Acres of Art
Hi, I’m Penny Carney — and Acres of Art is my little dream come to life.
A close friend (Chrissy) encouraged me to stop talking about my dream and start living it… so I did. Not long after, she passed away, and this studio became even more meaningful. It’s a tribute to her belief in me, and to the joy that creativity can bring into people’s lives. So in September 2024, we opened “officially”. Thankfully,Chrissy visited to paint a Kookaburra, one of our very first sessions !
I wanted to create a space where anyone — any age, any ability — could relax, connect, slow down and discover the simple joy of painting. What began as a small idea has grown into a warm, welcoming shed here in Pakenham, surrounded by peaceful farmland and country air. (and the odd bad smell)
In our shed, laughter is just as important as brushstrokes. Every session is slow, easy, step-by-step and pressure-free — it’s all about the experience, the people you’re with, and the memory you take home (and yes, the painting too!).
Welcome to our studio. My hope is that when you visit, you feel at ease, soak in the views, sip something you enjoy, and leave with a beautiful artwork — and an even more beautiful memory.
Our Mission
Penny has a few hidden hobbies
She takes on a number of comissions a year
She is a photographer and can be followed at Penny C Images on both FB and Insta,
She’ s a beef farmer and
She works off farm in local government so that is why Acres of Art is a “by appointment only” cause half the time she’s out with her camera chasing a bird or an aurora somewhere….
